The Entanglement Series
A living art initiative at the intersection of quantum science and human perception.
The Entanglement Series is a multi-year, cross-institutional art series that builds on principles from quantum physics to reshape how we perceive ourselves and the world around us. In a time when we are feeling increasingly disconnected from the present moment, the people and world around us, and even our own sense of self. This series is meant to give participants and viewers an experience that reveals how inseparable they already are from the people and systems around them.
Built on non-separability as a structure, each piece is created live within a different institution, from the people who shape the institution to those it reaches. Every finished piece stands on its own. But none of them are separable from the system that produced them, one continuous method of live, collaborative creation running across deep tech research, live performance, entrepreneurship, and international diplomacy
Where the series has lived
NODE ONE
QCORE
The origin point of the series. As the founding artist-in-residence at QCORE, Montana State University's quantum computing research initiative, conversations with physicists gave the work its structural language, non-separability, built rather than described. The residency produced two permanent works, now on display at QCORE, and demystified quantum physics for over 1,000 people on tours, many of whom became part of the piece itself through direct contribution.
NODE TWO
THE BOZEMAN SYMPHONY
Painted live in front of roughly 2,000 people over two sold-out nights, the series proved it could move beyond a research setting. Carrying the language that QCORE gave to the work, the performance tested it against a cultural institution, performed during the Bozeman Symphony's season finale, "Sounds of America III: Appalachian Spring."
Before the performance, during rehearsals, members of the orchestra added objects that connected them to the music directly into the painting, the piece carrying contributions from its collaborators before a single audience member had seen it. The painting moved through the same tension the program did: institutions and structures pulling toward control, the people within them pulling toward freedom and connection. It started cold, black and white, unresolved, and found its color and its horizon over the course of the evening, the same way the audience found their way into it. During intermission, they added marks of their own, carrying their own answers into a piece that no longer belonged to one hand alone, non-separability made physical, without a single word of physics spoken.

The Entanglement Series offers organizations more than a commissioned artwork. Each collaboration becomes an opportunity to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, strengthen community engagement, and create a lasting cultural artifact that reflects the people and ideas unique to that environment.
